Caleb's apartment - 10am

When Caleb called Eugene the next day, it was clear the boy was upset about something. It didn't take long for Caleb to ascertain that he'd argued with Joanne again. Probably about him, to make matters worse. So while Caleb hadn't intended on inviting Eugene over that morning, he couldn’t bring himself to leave Eugene stuck with his mother and feeling dismissed by Caleb on top of everything.

Caleb had such a soft spot for Eugene, it worried him.

It was Eugene's suggestion that they smoke pot. They'd been making out on the floor -- well, they'd started on the couch, but that had unnerved Caleb a touch, so he'd slipped them down so his back rested against the couch and Eugene sat aside his lap. The suggestion was random, said as Eugene sucked on Caleb's earlobe and from there Caleb learned that Eugene had never tried it. So, with Eugene's offer to foot the cost, Caleb found their groping set aside and he'd picked up the phone to call his dealer and boss -- though, Eugene didn't know about the latter part.

Joey would probably still be in denial mode -- why would the man suddenly have a change of heart? So, there was no reason for Caleb to be nervous. Joey would probably be relatively glad to hear from him.

Caleb was nervous anyway, waiting as the cell phone rang.

Joey was going to be late for class and it was all Lou's fault. The ass had agreed to meet him at 9:30 but it was almost 10:00 and he'd just shown up. "I have a fucking class in five minutes, you moron."

Lou, who looked like complete shit at the moment, shrugged carelessly. "Sorry. I decided to walk and it took longer than I thought."

Joey eyed the teen. He had dark circles under his eyes and he was pale as fuck. "I heard about Skate," He commented, figuring that's what the problem was. "It true he tried to off himself?"

Lou stiffened. "No," he said hotly. "He just had a bad trip, that's all."

Joey shrugged. "Whatever you say." He looked at his watch. "What can I do you for? The usual?"

Lou hesitated. "No... actually... can you hook me up with some E? Like four tabs?"

Joey raised an eyebrow. The kid usually just bought weed, but he wasn't about to turn down business. "Forty bucks," He informed him. They made the exchange smoothley and Lou stuffed the baggy of pills in his pocket. Joey was about to dismiss the kid when his cell rang. It was Caleb. He flipped his phone open. "Yo?"
Caleb grinned to hear Joey's voice.

"Hey man, hope I'm not catching you at a bad time, but..." Caleb glanced at Eugene and smirked. "I've got someone here who'd like to do a little green exchange with you. Think we could arrange that?"
Joey raised an eyebrow approvingly. He was always open to new business associates. "I'm aiight with that. I'm near the college in front of the Liberal Arts building. I'm already late anyways so I'll be around."
"Great," Caleb answered. "I'll find you." And he hung up, feeling a little excited to be seeing Joey again so soon. He should just shoot himself, really, it'd be easier than this shit. Anyway... Caleb glanced over at Eugene and smirked.

"Your first deal, you ready for this?"

Eugene chuckled. "No. I don't think so." Then he sobered. "But, what if this guy is undercover or something." Caleb almost laughed, but just shook his head with a grin.

"Don't worry about it. Joey's no turncoat. C'mon." Caleb stood and drew Eugene up with him. "Let's get going."
