"Don't worry about it, I do this all the time," was about the only answer Caleb had to offer. But Eugene's giddiness was infective and Caleb felt caught up in his familiarity. He wasn't really paying attention at how they looked together, both chuckling, his hand at Eugene's back and the boy clutching his arm, sometimes with both hands. They were laughing and stumbling over each other's feet because they were walking too close together.
Caleb headed them towards the courtyard he expected to find Joey at. He didn't see him right away, though -- probably because he was so damned distracted.
